New York Red Bulls vs Orlando City Preview
This weekend sees last years Supporter Shield champions New York Red Bulls against Orlando City. The home side will be looking to bounce back from there early season disappointment in the Concacaf Champions League by focusing back on being consistent in the league.
In the same fixture last time out, Orlando City were able to keep New York Red Bulls out until a breakthrough goal by Derrick Etienne in the 53rd minute which ended up being the decisive goal helping them lift the shield on the final day.
The Red Bulls had to come back from behind at the weekend after a 9th minute early opener by new signing Espinosa rattled the home side. It took a lot to break down the Quakes and despite there resistance a first goal of the season for Alex Muyl just after half time brought them level.
This was followed by another by Muyl and then goals by Bradley Wright-Philips and Daniel Royer. They may have won 4-1 but it was far from convincing, however it was just what they needed after falling short in Mexico earlier that week.
Orlando City who were the worst team in the eastern conference last time out have set out this season to have a much better campaign. Signings like Nani show that they mean business and he particularity as been Orlando's main player so far.
Orlando City were though very poor at the weekend and it seems that they have started where they left off last year. They did come back to get a point in there first game against New York City however dropping a lead in the last minute to Chicago with the extra man and then going to pieces against a resurgent Montreal Impact side doesn't look good already.
While they have brought in forward players they are lacking any stability at the back and even experienced keeper Kellyn Rowe as been at fault for a few goals already, one area they were looking to improve after offloading Joe Bendik to Columbus Crew in the pre-season
As you can imagine odds for this game are highly in favour of New York Red Bulls and I can't see them messing up against one of the poorer sides in MLS.
New York Red Bulls vs Orlando City Betting Tips
With Orlando City's defence being very poor this season I would advise backing New York Red Bulls to win and over 2.5 goals. This means to win the home side will need to win by at least 2 goals for the bet to come in.
Only 3 of New York Red Bulls last 10 games have seen fewer than 3 goals plus they have won there last 9 home games in the MLS. You can always see Orlando at least getting goal as they have scored in 8 of there last 10 matches.
